LRP Column / June 2016

Finally, the bad weather and cold temperatures are leaving Europe for good - time to look at our new Nitro Pullstart engines. The ETS bosses also thought it a great time to schedule the first outdoor race of the season. And of course LRP was also there.
LRP Nitro Pullstart Engines

Our LRP Nitro engine line has been a great success for quite some time now. But technical development never stops. Therefore it was time to update our engines. We will start with the ZR.30 Spec.4 and ZR.32 Spec.4 engines. In order to streamline this line, all our pullstart engines will have the high efficient tulip design cooling heads with the great looking cooling fin arrangement that was first time introduced with the ZR.32 Spec.2 pullstart engine. Furthermore we harmonised our line with our exclusive XTEC crankcase.

The interior of the carburettor has been completely redesigned and enhanced. These changes lead to a better adjustability and response characteristics of the engines. Furthermore, we were able to get to a more efficient fuel consumption. While saving fuel, our engineers were still able get more torque and speed out of the engines. A feat that in my opinion isn’t a given!

The Nitro pullstart line constitutes Nitro engines for every application. They are the perfect fit for Nitro RTR car owners that want to improve the performance of their cars. The engines are just a great combination of performance and reliability. They are not as sensitive as competition engines and therefore the perfect choice for everyday use.

ETS Round 4 in Riccione

The fourth round of the ETS was also the first one of the series held outdoors on asphalt. LRP team support Ales Dobnikar was on site with all the top international LRP team drivers. The controlled practice session in Modified started perfectly for LRP with team driver Viljami Kutvonen clocking the best run. The qualifying saw 3 runs with 3 different winners: Viljami Kutvonen, Bruno Coelho and Marc Rheinard. Bruno got TQ due to the fastest time.

In A-Main 1, Viljami was pushing really hard and made consequently made a small mistake, kicking him and Marc Rheinard out of contention for the first A-Main. That made it an easy victory for Bruno Coelho. In A-Main 2, the super fast Viljami pushed Bruno real hard but could not execute the final attack and consequently made Bruno the ETS Round 4 winner already after 2 final rounds. With Bruno sitting out the third A-Main, Viljami secured the win ahead of Marc. This gave Viljami his first ever ETS Modified podium finish ahead of Marc Rheinard on third - a wonderful week for Viljami and hopefully a glimpse of things that are still to come.

The Pro Stock class also had a little fairy tale of its own. The Italian LRP driver Mattia Collina won the first two A-Mains after qualifying second. This was Mattia’s first ever ETS victory. And getting it in his home country makes it even better! TQ Max Machler was finally able to win one A-Main in A-Main 3, securing the overall second place ahead of Nicolai Lindegaard.

When you are talking about total dominance in racing classes, you can’t get past German LRP driver Jan Ratheisky in the Formula class. In its premiere season, Jan was already able to win all 4 TQ’s and races of the season so far. This time, he actually had to wait until A-Main 3, since he finished “only” third in A-Main 2. With two more legs remaining in the series, Jan has already secured the overall championship. I am absolutely sure, he will still give his best possible in order to also secure the last 2 races. To be honest, I can’t remember if there ever was an ETS series winner, who swept all legs. Come on Jan, you can do it! ;-)
